Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has increased its ownership in Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation (Empower) to **80%** after buying the entire **24% stake** from Dubai Holding for around **Dh5.18 billion**. Empower is one of the world’s largest district cooling providers, serving major developments across Dubai. The deal strengthens DEWA’s control of key cooling infrastructure as the emirate’s property and infrastructure sectors grow. Dubai Holding said the sale fits its strategy to rebalance capital and expand its global investment focus, while DEWA said the move supports long-term sustainable services for the city’s cooling needs.
